A classic that stands the test of timeReview by Geoffrey Blagdan

If I were stuck on a desert island and I could have one pocket knife, it would hands down be the Opinel pocket knife. It's simple, yet elegant with its wooden handle as oppose to more modern pocket knives with synthetic materials and assisted opening systems, the Opinel is as simple as it gets for a folding knife.

The blade is razor sharp out of the box, the blade holds up well, and sharpens easily which I think that's how a knife like this should be, simple, uncomplicated and reliable. As I said, there's so many pocket knives that try to be high tech and innovative and reinvent the wheel.

But the Opinel stays true to its French craftsmanship and it speaks volumes about its quality and consistency. (Posted on 7/1/2017)
